Adding new shots at the top now.  Went on the evening of Sept. 10th to watch the sunset from one of the local hotels with a rooftop restaurant.  The next  morning I deciced my world would be even brighter if I cleaned my living room windows, so I did.

Dinara, Rachel, Gunay, and ALL on top the Grand Hotel Victory at left. The glass wall of the indoor restaurant reflects the veranda where we enjoyed our pizzas and the other ladies shared a bottle of wine.  My share was the empty bottle for a souvenir.

The front gate at QSI school in Aktau, Kazakhstan

The first two windows on the left are my classroom.

Morning Glories on the school fence.

The view toward the sea from my windows (much nicer in reality).

Went for a walk with 4 new friends:  Dinara, Rachel, Gunay & Anya

There is a garden sculpture of a bactrian camel near the shore.

I will have to wait until I lose weight to fit in the built-in saddle.

The president of Kazakhstan's compound at the Caspian Sea.

The man-made harbor at the president's compound.

Mike's turn to run under the rainbow chute.

Gunay and Dinara on the White Cliffs.  There is a cave behind Dinara.

This was from the walk we took to the President's Harbour.  Some of the tallest buildings of Aktau in the background.

<<  Clearly, I have not lost too much of my excess mass yet.  Rachel and I posed with the Caspian sunset while Dinara took the picture.  The pier lights up at night; but we were tired and thirsty so we went on home.

This red-sail ship is not floating, or even real, It is a restaurant built to mimic an old ship near the shoreline.

Keep an eye peeled for more pics of Kazakhstan.  Yes, ALL will be adding them when time permits.  (Happily, Borat is NOT here!)
