I have been contemplating taking an online course with The Institute for Children's Literature. They have a good success rate for helping writers get published frequently enough to earn a decent income. I might find that the tuition is prohibitive; but if not, it will fill in the boring hours, and bring my college credit total to 317. If I decide to spend the cash, they have assigned me Marcia Amidon Lusted as a personal instructor. Her husband is also a writer and collaborates on many of her books. They have 3 children and live in Iowa.
[1]Play some games. I always like to learn a new game.
[2]Sketch Up 7I like to practice my skills on Google SketchUp. I have been toying around with it for the past few years. I started a model of my own house---can't finish it just yet; but, I also like to design my Dream Estate and have been sketching some ideas for M. Scott, too. I can't link to my model of my house from this page because it is too large for the free hosting. I do have a sketchy model of a design idea from last year that is a small enough file to link to here; and, you can open it only if you download the free program. Anyone with a fairly modern computer can download a free version to learn the user-friendly program that lets you draw your ideas in 3-D, or open files if you want to look at some of my ideas. At the bottom is a regular Google search in case you want to search for anything else.
Links to tutorials on YouTube might be very enjoyable & very helpful. The Go-2-School set or what they call The Sketch-Up Show, are the ones I like.
[3]Connections Check out the videos at this sight. You very likely have seen them a long time ago on TV; but, they are timeless. Use your regular < back button to return here, if you want to look at other pages in Mrs. Peabody's School for the Extremely Clever.
